It is revealed that Zijin Mining owns the project Vuritica Gold Mine in the city of Vuritica, Colombia, which is a world-class high-grade gold mine and known as a world-class "pearl" in the global gold pattern.

According to Zijin's 2022 annual report, the company has a 69.28 per cent stake in the Vuritica gold mine. The gold resources of the Vuritica gold deposit are 322 tons with an average grade of 6.61 g/t. The mine will produce 7.7 tons of annuities in 2022 and 8.2 tons of gold in 2023.

On March 5, 2020, Zijin Mining announced the completion of 100% equity delivery of the merger and acquisition of Continental Gold, whose core asset is the gold mine in Uritica, Colombia. At the time, it took Zijin "world-class speed" to complete the delivery of the Vuritica mine in just three months.

According to the disclosure of Zijin Mining, as a world-class high-grade large-scale gold mine, the Wulitika gold mine has good mining conditions, and has a good prospect in the deep and peripheral ore body prospecting, and has great potential to explore and increase reserves. The ultra-high grade of the gold mine in the world is very rare. Data show that the average grade of the global primary gold ore is only 1.19 g/ton, and the average grade of the gold mine in the world is much higher than this.

On June 30, 2021, Ivan Duque, then President of Colombia, said that the Vuritica gold mine built by Zijin Mining is Colombia's first ecologically green, environmentally friendly and socially beneficial modern mine. The project is of great significance to Colombia's mining and economic development and has become a world-class "pearl" in the global gold landscape.
