Kazakhstan's State Atomic Energy Industry Corporation (Kazatomprom) recently announced that its subsidiary Ulba metallurgical Plant has been awarded an exploration license for the rare Upper lrgiz gold deposit in the Aktobe region, Urba Metallurgical Plant, one of the world's leading producers of uranium, metals and products that meet the needs of nuclear power, electronics, metallurgy and other industries, plans to explore the deposit to assess and confirm the reserves and resources of rare metals. The project will enable the company to provide its own mineral resource base for existing production, reducing the cost of the final product, improving economic efficiency and creating new jobs. The company pointed out that it has a certain level of experience in the development of rare metals, and has the modern technology to extract high-purity rare and rare earth metals. According to previous studies, the Upper lrgiz rare gold deposit is mainly composed of ore, ore bodies occurring in pre-Cambrian gneiss, amphibolite and quartsite with a length of about 20 to 1,000 meters. The thickness is 0.1~10 meters, the main ore types are alkaline feldspar metasomatic rock type and ore bearing weathering crust type after weathering of primary ore. The ore minerals are mainly silver and iron ore, and the average grade of Nb205 is 0.03% and Ta205 is 0.1%. The deposit is located in a special near fault metasomatic rock type.
